One-to-one Quran classes

One-to-One Online Quran Classes

Every class we run is one student with one tutor. We do not offer group sessions and we do not sell recorded courses, because learning to recite the Quran depends on reading aloud and being corrected in the moment. A recording cannot hear you, and in a group of eight, seven students are listening rather than reciting.

The practical consequence is that the lesson follows the student. If a particular letter is not forming correctly, the tutor stays on it. If a passage is already secure, you move on the same day rather than waiting for a syllabus to catch up. Over a year this compounds into a very different rate of progress from a class where the pace is set by the middle of the room.

What one-to-one actually changes

The difference is not simply more attention. It changes what can be taught and how quickly errors are caught.

  • Mistakes are corrected the moment they happen, not marked later

  • The pace follows the student, in both directions

  • The syllabus can be reordered around your goal

  • A shy student is not reciting in front of peers

  • Class times fit your schedule, not a fixed timetable

  • The tutor learns your specific weak points over months

Your own tutor, kept

You keep the same tutor session to session. Nobody re-explains their level each week, and the tutor builds a genuine picture of where you struggle rather than a snapshot. If the match is not working, we will change it: a good teacher for one student is not automatically a good teacher for another, and that is nothing to be awkward about.

Built around your goal

Tell your tutor what you actually want and the plan is built backwards from it. Adults often want to recite Al-Fatiha and the short surahs correctly in salah, which is a matter of weeks rather than years and is prioritised first. Others want fluency across the Mushaf, formal Tajweed, or a defined portion of Hifz. A shorter goal you complete is worth more than an ambitious one you abandon.

How the sessions run

Classes are live over video call, typically thirty minutes for children and forty-five for adults, three times a week for most students. You need only a device with a camera and a reasonable connection. After each session you receive a short note covering what was covered and what to practise before next time.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer group classes as an alternative?

No, deliberately. Reciting aloud and being corrected in the moment is the method, and in a group most students spend most of the lesson listening. Every class we run is one student with one tutor.

Are the classes live or pre-recorded?

Always live. A recording cannot hear your recitation or correct your pronunciation, which is the entire point of the lesson.

How many classes a week do I need?

Three suits most students. Two is workable for adults with limited time, though progress is slower. Hifz students generally need five, because memorisation depends on daily revision. Your tutor will recommend what is realistic for your goal rather than the maximum.

Can I change my tutor if it is not working?

Yes, and you should tell us early rather than persevering. A teacher who suits one student will not suit every student. Changing is straightforward and we would much rather do it than lose you.

Can I focus on just the surahs I need for prayer?

Yes. Say so at the trial and your tutor will prioritise Al-Fatiha and the short surahs rather than working through the Mushaf in order. Most students reach that point within a few weeks.
