For many sisters and for many families with daughters, learning from a female teacher is not a preference to be accommodated but a condition of studying at all. Our female tutors are certified in Quranic sciences and teach women, girls and young children one-to-one, at times that fit around family and work.

You then keep the same teacher week to week, which matters more here than anywhere else: a student who is comfortable with her teacher will read aloud, make mistakes, and be corrected, which is the only way recitation improves.

One-to-one online classes remove the two barriers sisters most often mention: travelling to a class, and reciting in front of a group while still learning. Nobody hears your recitation except your tutor. For an adult beginner who feels self-conscious about starting late, this is usually the difference between beginning and putting it off again.

Our tutors teach across the UK, North America, Europe, Australia and the Gulf, so early morning and late evening slots are normal rather than exceptional. The full course list is open to you: Noorani Qaida if you are starting from the letters, Quran Recitation to build fluency, Tajweed for the rules of recitation, Hifz for memorisation, and Tafseer, Islamic Studies or Fiqh for understanding and practice. Your tutor will recommend a starting point at the trial based on what she hears, not on what you booked.

How do I request a female teacher?
Mention it when you book the free trial, either in the form’s optional message or on WhatsApp when we confirm your slot. You will be matched with a female tutor from the start; there is no need to explain or justify the request.
Are your female tutors certified?
Yes. Our female tutors are certified in Quranic sciences and Islamic studies, and teach the same full range of courses as our male tutors.
Can a female tutor teach my young son?
Yes. Female tutors teach young children of either gender, and many families prefer this for children in the early years.
Will I have the same teacher every week?
Yes. You keep the same tutor session to session. If the match is not working for any reason, tell us and we will change it without any awkwardness on either side.
I am an adult beginner and feel embarrassed. Is that normal?
Very. A large share of our adult students are learning to read the Quran for the first time, and almost all of them say the same thing at the trial. Classes are one-to-one precisely so that nobody else hears you learn.
What times are female tutors available?
